Chapter One.♥
Cloud was someone ordinary. Someone you would normally see on the streets. However, his past wasn't simple. Before he moved in into the city area, he was living in a place that no children should be living in. He was poor before he moved into the city area and started his Secondary School Life.
During the past eight years of his life, he had seen so much more than he should already. He seen too much blood, tears and suffered so much pain. Gangsters, prostitutes, robbers were seen all around the area he was living in. Life was tough but he still made it. People always say that suffer first, then enjoy the fruit of labour , but that didn't happen in his life. It wasn't fair.
Despite his tough life, he was lucky to have a bestfriend. His bestfriend was called Trevors, it was a dog. They were very close. He usually tells his dog everything and it would sit beside him and listen. This is something he will never forget.
When he was eight, he had seen someone die before his eyes. The murderer held the man's chin up, unwrapped the newspaper wrapping his weapon; a parang and slit the man's throat. The man was mouthing: Help Me, but he was only eight. What could an eight year old possibly do?
However, all those useless adults sitting at the coffee shop could have done something! They could have saved that poor man. But what did they do? They did NOTHING. The man's throat got slit open and was gasping for breath. He was shaking in fear as he looked at the scene before him. Blood was running down that man's throat. It was disgusting. He wanted to cry, but he couldn't.
"L-let's G-go.." He heard one of his friend said quickly. The fear in his voice was noticable.
Without finishing their food, they ran. Until they felt that they were safe, they slowed down and started walking. On the journey, nobody said a word. Everyone was scared.
Besides that, he had another contact with blood and fear again. However, this time, it was his own blood. He was at the badminton court playing soccer when he fell. His eye went straight into the hook of the pole which was used to hang badminton net. It punctured his eye ball. It hurt. It hurt so much. He was shaking in fear again.
What if he went blind?
Red.
That was everything he saw in his injured eye. He was bleeding in his eye and his eyelid was raptured. His friends who were with him at that time was shocked. One of them quickly ran up to his house on the second story and informed his parents. While the rest stayed with him, telling him, 'it's okay'.
His parents came running down. His mother was crying, it was obvious that she was scared and worried. What if her precious son went blind? On the other side, his father was more calm than his mother. He ran to the nearest public phone and called for ambulance.
Outside the operation room, his mother and father were there and a few relatives. They were all informed about Cloud's injury. His mother was praying & crying at the same time for Cloud to be safe . The rest was walking up and down outside the operation room, worrying for him.
After 4 hours of surgery, the doctor came out. Everyone gathered around him asking about Cloud. ' He's fine, ' the doctor said . ' I've done about 7 stiches to his eyelid. ' Everyone sighed in relief. They were all very concern about Cloud as he was the only boy in the family back then.
'Will he be scarred for life?' his aunt asked worriedly.
The doctor shook his head. The rest of the family members continued to flood the doctor with questions.
That accident left Cloud a mark in his eye. His eye has a bloodstained mark beside his pupil. Although the pain and scene was hard to forget, he soon did not really think much about it. Life goes the same for him after that. His mother was worried of another accident that will happen to Cloud, she prevented him from going out to play soccer. He was bored at home, but he still have someone to play with, Trevors. They had fun with each other together. Trevors is a maltese. Everyday at around 3pm in the past, it will scratch the door to run out to walk around on it's own. And around 4pm it will come back on it's own.
Soon after, on a particular day, it ran out at the usual time. However, it did not came back on that day. Cloud would have guess what happened to it. Approximately around four days before that particular day, it was not feeling well already, it did not go out to play and walk around, instead it stayed at home lying on the floor like a dead dog. Trevors ran out to die , because it did not want it's owner, Cloud, to be sad after knowing that Trevors passed away at home. Cloud became really sad to what had happened. He often had to cry himself to sleep, knowing the fact that Trevors was not going to come back. He grieved over it a few weeks.
A month later, Cloud's mother had enough of everything. She had enough of living in a place of murders, prostitution, gangsterism and a lot more. She had enough of the life that they had been suffering and watching people in their neighbourhood being harmed. She had enough of having to live in fear and danger all the time. For her family's sake , she felt the need to get out of this place; quick.
Thankfully, Cloud's father got a promotion and have saved enough money to get a flat in the city area. They were overjoyed as they cannot wait to move out of the place that was congested with criminal injustice.
Life was changing for him. Even better ? He didn't know.
